OPEN: RUNAR CARDIGAN
- test starting March 14th '26 -

SUMMARY

  • ​Loose-fitting cardigan with lots of potential for customisation.

  • Knitted from top down in 4 pieces with attached sleeves; body pieces joined with visible crochet seams (no previous crochet experience necessary!).

  • Any colour combination of the parts is possible

  • Junior version for babies and toddlers available for a matching look

  • Difficulty level: 

  • Medium

  • Available in German and English

  • 9-week testing period

GAUGE

26 stitches x 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm | 4 x 4"

Worked in stockinette stitch pattern, worked flat and in the round, blocked and measured laid flat.

The double k button band has to have the same row gauge!

To make sure this is a given, follow these steps to check your button band gauge.

  • Finding your size:
    Take your bust circumference and add to it your preferred positive ease, then choose the size closest to that value. If you are in between sizes, sizing down or up is possible for this design, depending on your personal preference.

  • Main Needles: Circular Needles 3 mm | US 2.5 | UK 11 in length that feels best.

  • 2 sets of Needles for Double Knitting: Circular Needle, 1 size smaller than your Main Needles (2 sets to use for the double knit button band).

  • Crochet Hook 3 mm | US 6 | UK 11.

  • Preferred number of buttons, ø 1.5 cm | 0.6" in width.

  • Stitch markers, stitch holder, measuring tape, darning needle, scissors.
